Students: Submit a file from OneDrive for an assignment

NOTE: Please do not submit your OneDrive file in Canvas until you're ready for your professor to see it. Submitting a file from OneDrive will upload a static copy of the file's contents at the time of submission. Any later changes to the document will not be reflected in your already submitted assignment. If you make a change in OneDrive after you've submitted your assignment, you will need to submit the file again as an additional attempt if multiple attempts are allowed for the assignment.

In the navigation menu for the course you are completing the assignment for, click "Assignments".
The Assignments page is split into different parts for assignments that have upcoming due dates, assignments without due dates, and past assignments. Scroll or search to find the assignment you need.
Click the name of the assignment to open the assignment's submission page.
On the submission page, scroll to the "Choose a submission type" section. If the assignment is set up to accept file uploads, you should also see an icon with 3 vertical dots labeled "More". Click that, then select Office365 from the list.
If this is your first time using Office 365, you may be prompted to Log In in the submission box and complete additional setup steps. If you don't see a list of your files, please follow the steps below:
1. Click "Log In".
2. In the new window that opens, confirm that your correct account details are listed where it says that Office365 is requesting access to your account. Click "Authorize" to continue.
3. If the authorization is successful, you'll be prompted to complete additional steps in Office 365. Start by clicking the "Log In to Office 365" button.
4. If prompted, enter your nesl.edu email account and password in the Microsoft 365 login page.
5. After logging in, you'll be directed back to the assignment submission page.
In the OneDrive file list, navigate to or search for the file you want to submit.
Check the box to the left of the file that you want to submit, then click "Attach File".
- Only one file can be selected for submission this way. If your assignment requires you to submit multiple files, you may need to download your files from OneDrive first and submit through the upload option instead.
- If your professor has chosen to accept only certain file types, OneDrive will not allow you to select files that don't match the accepted file types.
Click "Submit Assignment" to finalize your submission.
Confirm that your assignment has submitted correctly by checking the text towards the top of the page to confirm it says "Submitted on..." with today's date.
