Choose a default quiz experience

When New Quizzes is enabled in a course, Canvas will prompt you to choose between New Quizzes and Classic Quizzes each time you create a quiz. If you'd prefer not to be asked every time, you can choose a default quiz type for your course.

Open Quizzes from the course navigation menu.
Click the "+ Quiz" button.
In the window prompting you to choose whether to use New Quizzes or Classic Quizzes, select which quiz option you want to be the default from now on.
Check the box next to "Remember my choice for this course"
Click "Submit" to be taken to the details page for the newly created quiz.
If you don't need the quiz that was just created, you can delete the quiz.

Choose a new default

If you change your mind about the default quiz option for your course, you can undo the previous choice using the vertical dots menu to the right of the "+ Quiz" button. Select "Reset quiz engine choice" from the menu and wait for the notice on the screen that says your choice was reset.

The next time you create a quiz you will be prompted to choose between New Quizzes and Classic Quizzes again.
