Students: Technology Recommendations
Important
-
Mac OS: Apple is no longer releasing updates and security fixes for OS X Monterey as of September 2024. While there isn't yet a set date, support for OS X Ventura is also expected to end late in 2025.
-
Windows: Microsoft will be ending support for Windows 10 in October 2025.
If your computer is running either of the versions mentioned above, we highly recommend updating your operating system to a supported version as soon as possible.
What kind of computer do I need?
Most students bring their own laptops, if you are purchasing a new laptop please see the recommendations below. When purchasing a device, it is strongly recommended that you include a three-year extended warranty (for example, the AppleCare Protection Plan, if it is a Mac). Replacing hard drives, motherboards, LCD screens, etc., is very expensive when not covered by a warranty.
