Automatically Save Zoom Recordings to Canvas Studio
Zoom meetings that you record to the cloud will only be saved for 30 days before deletion. If you'd prefer to keep your recordings without having to download them to your computer, you can set up your Canvas Studio account to automatically save your meeting recordings for you.
Please note: These steps will cause all of your meeting recordings to save to Canvas Studio. If you only want specific recordings or if you will be recording meetings that are not class sessions, such as committee meetings, you can manually upload specific class recordings to Canvas Studio instead.
- While signed into your Canvas account, access Canvas Studio from the leftmost global navigation menu.

- If this is your first time accessing Studio, you may get a pop-up message about a change in the user interface. Click Continue to exit the pop-up.
- Click Settings at the top of the Studio window.
- On the Settings page, click the tab that says "Conferences".
- If you see a message that says "Save Zoom recordings to Studio" with a checkmark next to it, then your account is already configured and you can skip the rest of these setup steps. Otherwise, click the "Zoom User Authentication" button.
- Click "Continue" in the window informing you that you'll be redirected to Zoom.
- A new window or tab should open in your browser with a Zoom login screen. If not, please ensure that your browser is not blocking pop-up windows from Canvas.
- Click the "SSO" button at the bottom of the Zoom login screen.
- On the following Zoom screen, enter "nelboston" as the Company Domain if it's not already pre-filled for you.
- You will be directed to a confirmation page for Zoom Studio Cloud Recordings. Please confirm that the Zoom account shown on this page is correct. This page also provides explanations of the different permissions this app will be granted if you would like to review those. When you're ready, click "Allow" to continue.

- If it's visible, you do not need to check the box next to "Allow this app to use my shared access permissions."
- You will be directed back to Canvas Studio. If the process completed successfully, you will see a checkmark next to "Save Zoom recordings to Studio". If not, please try again or submit a ticket for assistance.
Edit automatic saving preferences
By default, Zoom recordings will save to your user media library in Studio. If you'd like to save your recordings to a different location, such as a separate folder / collection for just Zoom meetings, use the dropdown under "Save to" to choose an existing collection or create a new one.

To ensure that you only have one copy of your Zoom recordings to manage and prevent email notifications about the recordings expiring on Zoom, check the box next to "Remove recordings from Zoom Cloud after saving to Studio".

Stop saving recordings automatically
If you want to stop saving your Zoom recordings to Canvas Studio automatically, you have the option to either pause saving temporarily or disconnect Zoom entirely.
To pause saving:
- In the Settings > Conferences page where Zoom recordings was configured, click the checkmark next to "Save Zoom recordings to Studio".
- A new pop-up message will open asking if you want to stop saving recordings to Studio. Click "Confirm" to continue.
To start saving recordings again, click the X or unchecked box next to "Save Zoom recordings to Studio".

If you'd like to disconnect Zoom from Canvas Studio entirely:
- Scroll to the bottom of the page and click the "Deauthorize Zoom" button.
- A new pop-up window will open asking to confirm that you wish to Deauthorize Zoom. Click "Deauthorize" to continue.
- The Settings > Conferences page should look as it did during the first steps of the initial setup. You will need to go through all the setup steps again if you'd like to resume saving recordings from Zoom.
