Save a Zoom recording to Canvas Studio
Download your recording from Zoom
To upload individual Zoom class recordings to Canvas Studio, you will first need to download a copy of the recording. If you recorded your meeting to your computer instead of the cloud, you can skip these steps and start from the "Upload your recording to Canvas Studio" header.

Use the Zoom web portal to access your Recordings & Transcripts page.
- Select the cloud recording you want to download.
- In the recording’s page, click Download
on the desired recording. A confirmation prompt will appear.
- Click Download to confirm.

Note: Depending on your setup, you might receive prompts asking for confirmation to download files, choose a save location, or provide additional information. Follow these prompts to complete the download process.
Upload your recording to Canvas Studio
Once you have a copy of your Zoom recording saved to your computer, you will then be able to upload it to Canvas Studio.
- While signed into your Canvas account, access Canvas Studio from the leftmost global navigation menu.

- If this is your first time accessing Studio, you may get a pop-up message about a change in the user interface. Click Continue to exit the pop-up.
- Follow the steps provided by Canvas to upload your recording either to your main media library or to a folder/collection that you've created in Canvas Studio.
Trim your recording
NOTE: Before sharing your class recording with other users, please ensure that there are no private conversations included in the recording. In Zoom or in Canvas Studio, you can trim any unnecessary or private parts at the beginning or end of your recordings without the need for special video editing software.
Share your recording in Canvas Studio
After you've uploaded your recording to Canvas Studio, you will need to share it with any students or faculty members who need access. Follow the steps provided by Canvas for every user that needs access. How do I share media with a user in Canvas Studio?
