Enable the option to use New Quizzes

Enabling New Quizzes in your course allows you to try the more modern quiz experience that Canvas is developing while still retaining the ability to create and use your quizzes made through the Classic Quizzes experience. Canvas is no longer working on Classic Quizzes and will not add new features or improve existing functionality for this tool. We highly recommend starting to move to New Quizzes for a modern interface and ongoing improvements.

Open the course you would like to enable New Quizzes in.
From the course navigation menu, click Settings.
Click the "Feature Options" tab.
Scroll or use the search box to find the "New Quizzes" feature.
- If you can't find New Quizzes in the list of feature options, it may already be enabled for everyone. Skip to the "Confirm New Quizzes is enabled" section to check.
Click the x in the State column to the right of New Quizzes.
From the menu that opens, choose "Enabled".
The State column will show a checkmark after enabling New Quizzes.

Confirm New Quizzes is enabled

Click Quizzes in the course navigation menu.
Click the "+ Quiz" button.
You should see a prompt to choose between Classic Quizzes or New Quizzes.
