Reset forgotten password
If you aren't able to log in to your NELB account because you don't have the correct password, follow the steps in this guide to reset your password and access your account again. If you're able to log in to your account, but want to update your password to a new one, you can follow the instructions in Microsoft's Change your work or school account password guide instead.
Please note:
- If you have not yet set your account security options for your nesl.edu account, then these instructions may not work for you. Please submit a ticket for assistance and follow the instructions in our Set up Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA) guide after you are able to log in to your account again.
- In some cases, it may take up to an hour for a newly reset password to sync to all campus systems. If your new password doesn't work right away, please check again after some time has passed.
- In your browser, navigate to the NELB Password Reset page.
- You will be directed to a Microsoft page with a form under the "Get back into your account" heading.
- Type your nesl.edu email address into the "Email or Username" field. After you click out of this field, the logo at the top of the page will update to the New England Law | Boston logo. If it doesn't, please confirm that you're on an official Microsoft page before entering any sensitive information.
- Enter the characters in the picture or use the icons to the right of the picture to generate a new set of characters or hear the characters spoken aloud.
- Click "Next".
- You will be prompted to verify your identity using the sign-in methods you set when your account was created.
-
Note: If you did not set up identity verification or no longer have access to the methods listed, please submit a ticket using the options at the top of this page for assistance.
- Some explanations for common verification errors can be found on the Microsoft guide Reset your work or school password using security info.
- When your identity is verified, you will be asked to set a new password. Please create a strong password that is not used on other sites.
- Click "Finish" to reset your password and access your account.
