Accessing Communities (Engage) at NELB
Fall 2025 access to Communities (Engage)
Communities (Engage) is currently being piloted by a small number of organizations. If your student organization is not currently participating in the pilot, you may not be able to follow the instructions in this guide. We thank you for your patience as we work to expand Communities to include all student organizations.
Note:
To log in to Communities, you will need to make sure you're able to login to your NELB email account.
Communities, powered by Microsoft Viva Engage, are a space for student groups to keep members informed of events and topics of interest. Since Microsoft Viva Engage was formerly called Yammer, you may see references to Engage, Yammer, and Communities used in documentation or notifications.
Sign in on a Windows or Mac computer
- In your web browser of choice go to Microsoft Viva Engage.
-
Tip: If you're using your group's general email account to sign in instead of your individual account, you may need to use a Private Browsing or Incognito window in your browser to prevent any saved passwords from autofilling.
- Enter your nesl.edu email address. You should see a Microsoft sign in screen that has "New England Law | Boston" in the logo image and written as text below the sign in form.
- Enter your password and click Sign in to continue to the Communities (Viva Engage) home page.
Sign in on an iOS or Android mobile device
You can access Communities (Engage) through your mobile device's browser the same as in the browser on your Windows or Mac computer. For a better mobile experience, however, we recommend installing the Viva Engage iOS or Android app on your mobile device.
The App Store on iOS and Google Play Store on Android may show references to Yammer, the former name for Viva Engage. Please ensure you install the official Microsoft Viva Engage apps using the links below:
Follow the steps in Microsoft's Set up Viva Engage on your mobile phone guide for more information.
