Using the Attendance tool at NELB
The Attendance tool used in our Canvas instance at New England Law | Boston is called aPlus+ Attendance. You might also see it called "Attend HE" or "Attend Higher Education" depending on what page you're on. aPlus+ Attendance won't ask you for a password, but you may need to click a button that says "Authorize" when you first launch it within Canvas.
Faculty
You'll need to provide your students with a unique code for each class session that they will enter to mark themselves present. This code is automatically generated by aPlus+ Attendance for the class sessions that sync from the Registrar's system. If you don't see class sessions or one of your class sessions has been rescheduled, you can submit a ticket for assistance.
The daily attendance notifications from the Attendance tool cannot be turned off. We recommend using Outlook rules to filter these messages and checking them at least once a week. See Faculty: Managing attendance notifications for more information.
Students
Attendance codes can be entered starting from 10 minutes before class until the end of the class session. Before and after this entry window, you will not see an option to enter a code for that class. If you need to report an error with your attendance, please review the instructions and submit the Attendance Error Form on the Intranet.
Troubleshooting
I see a “One more step” message
This is typically due to privacy and security settings in your browser. Click the button that says "Click here to continue" to launch the Attendance tool in a new window.

All other screens for Attendance after this should look and function the same, but you'll need to close the newly opened Attendance window to get back to your Canvas course.
I see a message / popup asking me to Authorize
aPlus+ Attendance and Canvas need to talk to each other on the backend in order to identify your account and your courses. If this is your first time using the Attendance tool, you may be prompted to grant permission for this exchange of information. Click the "Authorize" button to continue.
